Dishwasher-Culinary Staff

JOB SUMMARY

This job ensures an enjoyable dining experience for our staff by providing prompt service, clean and sterile dishes, and maintaining a clean, friendly and comfortable environment. Provides service for special organizational functions as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures dishes are available as needed.
  • Set up and close down dish machine according to company procedures.
  • Wash plate ware, glassware, silverware, pots/pans and kitchen utensils according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Remove trash and boxes as necessary.
  • Assist with basic food prep.
  • Stock the dining room and Agora Café with condiments, paper goods, and food as needed.
  • Prepare sandwiches, wraps, salads and other options for Agora Café daily.
  • Provide service and support for special organizational functions as requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation standards.
  • Skill in communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Skill in managing multiple priorities and delegating as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and early mornings.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to be a good representative of the Company.
  • Ability to provide a positive customer service experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of one year of experience in a high-volume restaurant required.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

  • This role operates in a healthcare setting. This position requires frequent standing and walking and allows employee to vary physical position or activity for comfort.

Must be able to:

  • Lift up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Stand 80% or longer of an 8-hour workday.
  • Walk 40% of an 8-hour workday.
  • Requires employee to: Bend, squat, kneel and reach above shoulder level occasionally.
  • Requires repetitive use of hands for: Simple grasping, fine manipulation
  • Requires all sensory skills (speech, vision, smell, touch, and hearing) corrected to near normal range.
